Looking at Different Types of Translation Services Across Industries

Translation services are greatly needed as businesses go global and start working with clients in different countries that may not speak the same language as them. Translation is not only required in business terms, but also to bring in different cultural media such as books, music, TV shows and movies to countries which don’t understand those media in their original language and require translated versions of the same.
While the applications of translation cannot be comprehended, realistically speaking, we can definitely have a look at important areas of work and business where translation services are crucial.

Commercial Translation
Commercial translation involves translating business documents and speech into different languages. Business forms, legal documents, deals, contracts, help guides, product guides, technical documents, company memos, account documents, performance receipts, live translation for audio and video communication and many more form the basis for commercial translation services.

Digital Translation
Digital translation involves translation of digital, textual media such as websites, social media posts, programming languages, application codes, apps etc. into different languages. Digital translation requires not only skills in translation, but also expertise in the work which is being translated, such as software knowledge or knowledge about coding. This is also called as software localization.

Literary Translation
Literary translation involves translation of written and printed literary works such as books, stories, poems and novels. Different literary works that are sold in different countries often require a complete translation to local language for a much effective and diversified spread of literary works without language acting as a barrier. This kind of translation is one of the hardest, for the translator has to effectively translate not only words, but also the ideas and meanings that the words hold without deviating from the original text.

Legal Translation
Legal translation involves translation of all legal documents and related documents such as contracts, affidavits, notaries, memorandums, wills, testimonies, judgements, court documents, official certificates and many more. Because different countries have different legal conditions for various situations, the translator has to be well-versed in the laws of the local area to whose language the legal document is being translated, for they need to be added or removed as per as requirements.

Multimedia Translations
This involves translating audio and video to different languages. For example, a French movie in French language will have to be translated or dubbed to English for release in the United States. The same goes with movies, TV shows, music and other forms of video and audio media.
